Our story began in 1960, when C.L. Cook formed a union masonry business in the Atlanta area. In the 1970’s, as Georgia began its evolution into an open-shop state, he recognized that the future in masonry in the South was as a non-union contractor, and thus Pyramid Masonry Contractors was established in 1976.
In 1979, C.L. hired John Doherty, who quickly rose to become President and held that position for over 30 years until his retirement in 2013. With John and C.L.’s experience and business leadership, Pyramid quickly grew to become a major subcontractor in the Southeastern U.S. In 1987, the company opened branch offices in Orlando, FL and in Charlotte, NC. These offices also flourished in their respective markets, and by the 1990’s Pyramid, was one of the largest masonry contractors in the U.S., with a strong reputation of quality and integrity among its contractor clients.
Today, Pyramid Masonry is still proudly serving the same areas and providing the same top quality masonry work as we were 47 years ago.
Our Management Team
President – Tim Tracy- Tim has worked in the masonry industry at Pyramid for 40 years. He started his career with Pyramid in the field in 1983 and worked his way up the ladder through hard work and determination.
Regional Vice President, Carolinas Office – Tim McManus – B.S. Construction Engineering Management, 2005, Purdue University. Tim has worked in the masonry industry for over 18 years and is a NCMCA Certified Masonry Professional.
Regional Vice President, Florida Office – Bill Parsons – B.S. Construction Engineering & Management, Purdue University, 1985. Bill has worked in the masonry industry for over 36 years.
